David Z. Morris is a journalist, author, and historian of technology.
David has taught communication strategy at the University of Iowa and the University of South Florida. He has led successful fundraising and communication campaigns for organizations from technology startups to arts nonprofits and activist groups.
David is a veteran technology journalist, and was one of the first to write about cryptocurrency, first covering Bitcoin for Fortune Magazine in 2013. He is a former staff writer for Fortune, Breaker Magazine, and CoinDesk, where he served as Chief Insights Columnist and was part of the newsroom team that exposed and brought down Sam Bankman-Fried. His work has also appeared in the Atlantic, Slate, Aeon, the Japan Times, and other outlets.
David holds a PhD in the history of communication technology at the University of Iowa. His academic research has appeared in journals including Critical Studies in Media Communication.
